The Original Farmers Market at Third & Fairfax will celebrate its 25th annual Mardi Gras with party, parades and panache. The celebration will begin with an exceptionally quirky pet parade and costume contest “Mutti Gras”! So, why don’t we take part in it!?
Come check it out with your lovely woof, or get him/her costumed and join the parade and contest! (If you want to register for it, email me via Meetup. You got the big supporters here! More info about the parade and contest follows "How to find us")
After the parade, we move to West Patio of the market to enjoy fabulous food and drinks and mingle with everyone/dog! As it always has, Mardi Gras at Farmers Market will feature bead tossing from the Market Office balcony, plenty of great Cajun food, a ready supply of Dixie Beer and lots of festive decorations and live bands!

About the parade and contest: The parade winds its way along the trolley tracks on the Farmers Market Plaza, features dozens of costumed pets competing to be King & Queen of Mutti Gras in several categories. (While the contestants are mostly dogs, the parade has also featured a few cats, a rabbit and a turtle.) Led by a New Orleans style parade band and the Market’s official Mardi Gras jester, the parade precedes the contest in which the crowd selects winners categorized by size. Each winning King & Queen is crowned and awarded a gift basket from The Dog Bakery, the market’s bakery for barkers.
