What we're about

Come explore the delicious, relatively unknown world of African American-made wines. Among the 6,000 plus winemakers in the U.S. today, only about 22 are African American, even though black history with winemaking dates back to Thomas Jefferson's Monticello. Jefferson was the first to attempt viticulture here, and his slaves were the country's first vineyard workers.

Most of the wineries we will taste from are small, family-owned enterprises that might fly under your radar, and that's too bad, because some have been winning awards and nods from the likes of Wine Spectator and Wine Advocate for a while now.

Many of these wineries are so small they don't even have tasting rooms, but you can taste them at Wine Noir! Join us for casual, informative evenings of wine and mingling.
