New York Gallery Week (http://wirednewyork.com/art/new-york-gallery-week/) is a series of art events celebrating the most vital gallery community in the world. New York Gallery Week will be an annual event, concentrating on programmatic and artistic rigor, with a mission that aims to ignite the New York art scene and direct focus back to artists and galleries.
We will meet at Pier 66a/Pier 66 Maritime (http://www.pier66maritime.com/) in Hudson River Park, at West 26th Street. We will meet at 2pm and while waiting for everyone to assemble, will enjoy the view of the river, the ships, perhaps a lunch and a beer in the Bar+Grill area. If you cannot find the group, call me at[masked].
No later than 3pm we will proceed to the galleries, starting with Aperture Gallery, 547 West 27th Street, between 10th and 11th Avenues, 4th Floor. After that, we will visit several galleries, proceeding generally in the South direction, ending up at David Zwirner Gallery at West 19th Street.
As part of the New York Gallery Week, some Chelsea galleries stay open until 8pm this Saturday. Some galleries have artist talks, and some musical performances.
Nearby subway station is C, E at 8th Ave and 23rd St (you can then transfer to the crosstown M23 bus).
