Brooklyn is home to more artists than anywhere else in the United States, making it the creative capital of the art world. GO: a community-curated open studio project (https://www.gobrooklynart.org/) is a borough-wide initiative designed to foster personal exchange between Brooklyn-based artists, their communities, and the Brooklyn Museum.
During GO, Brooklyn artists will open their studios to the community, sparking a dialogue between artists and their neighborhoods.
We will meet at the Four & Twenty Blackbirds cafe, which is a block or so from 2 subway stations. One subway station is for the F, G lines, the other for the D, N, R lines.
My cell phone number is[masked] in case you are lost. From the meeting place we will proceed to studios in the Gowanus area, 168 7th St, 94 9th St, 183 Lorraine St etc.
A brave few art enthusiasts might make it to studios in Red Hook, where they will stand on its shores and gaze at the Statue at Liberty across the bay.
