• Tour some Bushwick Open Studios, Autumn 2018!
One of the most exciting events of the year, the colorful, vibrant Bushwick Open Studios ( http://artsinbushwick.org/ ) is happening this weekend and we will go! Bushwick Open Studios is New York's largest open studios event, encouraging hundreds of artists to open their doors and share their work; there will be also series of events & performances. Edward & Andru will be "expertly" guiding the tour. We always get lost. But that's a good thing. We will decide on a meeting place, closer to the event date. We will then visit many many studios, ending at the 56 Bogart St building (that is next to Morgan Ave. stop on the L line). Please join your pals from ArtForward and WiredNY Meetup groups. Download the Meetup app for your smartphone. That is how you will get tour location updates, comments, and communications.

  • Another Anniversary for Wired NY & ArtForward
Nine years (or 10, as some claim) ago, the first meetup of Wired New York Group took place. There have been over a Gazillion super successful Meetups since then. Those Meetups required walking, listening to art babble, drinking cheap wine, getting lost, getting rained on, and/or falling asleep. This annual event will be way more awesome. And now ArtForward has grown to about 8,450 1/2 handsome and smart members. And Wired New York Group has about 1,800 members. (And even more bots). This event is to celebrate these Meetup groups, and the birthdays of organizers Edward & Andru. And they're thirsty, like every damn day! So a biergarten celebration is in order. http://www.bierhausnyc.com is a new venue for us. We hope that it is suitably classy and informative. No discussions of art, sculpture, photography, music, dance, theatre, poetry or prose will be tolerated! Monday night at the Hofbrau is their Jazzhaus (live jazz) evening. Later on, their will be burlesque performances. We will meet in the patio area. It is covered, and there are heaters. It will be quieter there, so that we can hear each other speak, sip, and chew. Stay for as much of the festivities as you want. There are salad and other veggie options for non-omnivores. See you all soon!

  • Lower East Side Gallery Tour. Autumn Foliage Edition.
Join your pals from ArtForward and Wired NY Meetup groups for this stellar gallery tour. We will visit some LES galleries, and finish with a stop at a local watering hole for inspiring conversation, snacking and critique. Just possibly this will be the best Meetup ever in history. I will not have my beloved Meetup badge because Edward stole it! Sad.

  • Bushwick Open Studios, September 2017 style!
One of the most exciting events of the year, the colorful, vibrant Bushwick Open Studios ( http://artsinbushwick.org/ ) is happening this weekend and we are going! Bushwick Open Studios is New York's largest open studios event, encouraging hundreds of artists to open their doors and share their work; there will be also series of events, performances, and panels. Edward & Andru will be "expertly" guiding the tour. We have never been lost (yet). We will meet at 1329 Willoughby Ave building that houses several art galleries. It’s one block from Jefferson St. stop on the L line. We will then visit many many studios, making our way to 56 Bogart St building (that is next to Morgan Ave. stop on the L line). In the end, we will end up at Lantern Hall, having a beer. Please join your pals from ArtForward and WiredNY Meetup groups. • Gardens on Orchard. Orchards on garden? LES tour.
An event called Gardens on Orchard is happening this evening. Six galleries are open until 8pm. We will check out the shows, and anything else nearby that's worthwhile. Then we will go have a snack and drinks. Please join your pals from ArtForward and Wired NY Meetup groups. More info soon. (Yes, I say that every time). Although Front Room isn't on Orchard, they've agreed to let us meet and start there. There's a Summer Sampler show now at Front Room, and it's very nice.

  • A Williamsburg Gallery Tour (After the Last Ever W'burg Tour).
Last time we did a tour of Williamsburg art spaces, I said it would be the last one ever. I lied! This tour is the one after what was promised to be the final one. It will be almost exciting. Please note newest addition to our tour; a stop at City Reliquary, for a new exhibit, "Closet Archeology." The curator/ director (Miriam Sicherman) will be there to speak to us about this fascinating collection described as "An Accidental Time Capsule." There is a nominal charge of $5 for the City Reliquary, which is why I've updated the posted cost of this Meetup. We'll try to get to the following spaces: Carrie Able Gallery (409 Keap Street, Williamsburg, Brooklyn, between Grand St and South 1st St. Subways: close to the Metropolitan G , Lorimer L, and Marcy J train) City Reliquary The Hollows Journal Gallery Los Sures Figureworks A.G. Gallery There will definitely be time for drinks & snacks afterward! Join your friends from Wired NY Meetup Group and ArtForward. See you soon. If you are lost, you can text (only) me at[masked]

  • Not a Real Meetup. Queens Museum openings. Self-guided visit.
Hello ArtForward and Wired NY members. This is not an official organizer-led Meetup, but it is an event that could be fun and interesting. Especially with warm spring weather and with birdies chirping. Here's the link for further info: http://www.queensmuseum.org/events/spring-exhibitions-opening-2017-2 No need to RSVP. No charge, of course. Maybe I'll see you there!

  • Celebrate Pisces Birthdays & the 8th Anniversary of Wired NY
Eight years ago, the first meetup of Wired New York Group took place. There have been over 3,000,001 super successful Meetups since then. Those Meetups required walking, listening to art babble, drinking cheap wine, getting lost, getting rained on, and/or falling asleep. This annual event is way more chill. And now ArtForward has grown to about 7,000 handsome and smart members. And Wired New York Group has shrunk to about 17 members. Not sure why, but it's mostly true. This event is to celebrate these Meetup groups, and the birthdays of organizers Edward & Andru. And they're thirsty, like every Tuesday! So a biergarten celebration is in order. Spritzenhaus has beverages and food and a fireplace. There's vegetarian options, too. Something for everyone! http://www.spritzenhaus33.com/. Although this place is in Greenpoint, it's a very quick walk from the L-train stop at Bedford Avenue, or jump on the B-62 bus. No discussions of art, sculpture, photography, music, dance, theatre, poetry or prose will be tolerated! See y'all soon!
