All levels welcome!
We are resuming our WordPress meetings after taking a break in July.
While WordPress is usually used for websites, it can be used for other applications. This week Ed Gray will demonstrate how WordPress can be an easy to use and inexpensive tool for designing and managing multiple digital signs, those flat LCD panels that are popping up everywhere at McDonald's, shopping malls, and school campuses.
With a combination of WordPress, a custom theme and some plugins developed at Oxford University and a Google Chromecast along with a LCD screen you can have a very effective inexpensive digital sign system with content that can be easily edited and scheduled. If the end user knows how to use WordPress, they do not need to learn another application.
If you are willing to branch out a little, this could be another revenue source for you.
This meet-up is for developers, designers, or end-users. Also, bring along your questions and as group we will see if we can answer them
