Friday 8 November 2013, 6pm, Woking Town Centre

Free community lantern parade
The parade will leave from Gloucester Square (outside the Civic Offices) at 6pm. Be dazzled by this Hindu celebration, featuring a stunning parade of colourful lanterns, costumes and Indian crafts made by the local community to celebrate Diwali.

The parade will make its way through Woking Town Centre and finish outside the H.G. Wells Conference and Events Centre, where everyone is invited to continue the celebrations at a Diwali after party! The event is free to attend, but entry will be on a first come first served basis and traditional South Indian food will be available at a small fee.

We will be holding workshops for local schools and groups in October and November. Please contact arts@woking.gov.uk for more details.

For more information about the Diwali celebrations, please contact Tara Stevenson, Community Assets Programme Support Assistant on 01483 743696 or email tara.stevenson@woking.gov.uk
