Hackathon 2023
Details
The Women in Big Data Pacific Northwest Chapter is hosting a Hackathon for students at the University of Portland, Oregon State University, and the University of Oregon.
The hackathon will focus on Data Analysis, Big Data, Blockchain, and Web3 application development using Zbyte's platform.
Participants will work in teams of 4-5 people under the guidance of an experienced team leader. The team leader will select the hackathon challenge and provide technical guidance to the team. The hackathon will take place in the US Pacific time-zone and will last for 4 weeks.
To participate, students must have basic programming skills (any language) and be willing to commit 4-8 hours per week to the hackathon.
There are three different roles that students can apply for: team
leader, team member, or team coordinator.
- The team leader, with at least 2+ years industry experience, is responsible for leading the team and ensuring that the hackathon challenge is completed on time.
- The team member is responsible for contributing to the technical development of the hackathon project.
- The team coordinator is a team member who is responsible for assisting the team leader with logistics and communication.
The hackathon is a great opportunity for students to learn about Data Analysis, Big Data, Blockchain, and Web3 application development. It is also a great opportunity to network with other students and professionals in the field. Students completing the program will receive a small monetary award and a certificate. One internship will be offered to a participant following an interview process.
