(Address given to those who sign up), Greer, SC
We will be having a fun weekend in Asheville, North Carolina, that includes the 28th Annual Christmas Jam concert Saturday evening, one night at the new Hyatt Hotel in downtown Asheville, and a tour on Sunday!
We will car pool from my house in Greer at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, December 10th, have lunch locally, and check into our hotel room once we arrive in Asheville.
Warren Haynes' 28th Annual Christmas Jam is back to usher in the holiday spirit and rock Asheville! One of the most celebrated and longest-running live concerts in the U.S., the Christmas Jam will once again benefit Asheville Area Habitat for Humanity for the 19th year in a row. The proceeds go toward constructing energy-efficient new houses as well as purchasing and developing land for entire Habitat subdivisions.
The Christmas Jam, which is powered by the generous support of volunteers from all over the country, is steeped in a tradition of surprise collaborations, rare appearances, an array of special guests, and a show so packed with music that the always sold-out crowd heads home in the wee hours of the night!
We will have an early dinner, and then go to the Christmas Jam concert at the US Cellular Center. This year's jam features Gov't Mule, Bob Weir, Michael McDonald, Jamey Johnson + Alison Krauss, The Last Waltz Band (Warren Haynes, Michael McDonald, Jamey Johnson, John Medeski, Don Was and Terence Higgins) and special guests Branford Marsalis, George Porter Jr., Steve Kimock, Marcus King, Kevn Kinney, Audley Freed, Bob Margolin and Mike Barnes. Additional artists will be announced in the coming weeks. Doors open at 6:00 p.m. and the show begins at 7:00 p.m.
Sunday we will have breakfast at the hotel, and explore downtown Asheville. We are scheduled for a 2:30 van tour of Asheville breweries. We will have dinner in Asheville, and then head home.
This Meetup includes one ticket for the Christmas Jam concert on Saturday evening, 12/10, one night (Saturday, 12/10) at the Hyatt Hotel, downtown Asheville, double occupancy (we will each have our own queen size bed), breakfast Sunday morning, and the 2:30 Asheville breweries tour on Sunday afternoon. Other meals, gas money for the driver, and parking fees, are not included. Let me know if you have any questions. I hope to see you there!
Refunds are not offered for this Meetup.
