Physics vs Time Travel

Physics vs Time TravelEveryone loves a good time travel story, but given what we know, and don't know, about physics, is time travel in any way plausible? Using popular movies as a framework, Professor Wharton will outline several distinct categories of consistent time travel stories, and discuss possible connections with actual physics.

  • TITLE: Physics vs Time Travel
  • SPEAKER: Ken Wharton, Professor of Physics and Astronomy, San Jose State University
  • WHEN: 6:30 pm check-in, 7:00 pm, Tuesday, August 20, 2013
  • WHERE: The “Ballroom” in NASA Conference Center, Building 3, 500 Severyns Avenue, Mountain View, CA 94035
  • HOW: In association with the Commom Wealth Club of California
  • WHY: Because we're curious creatures
  • ADMISSION: $10 non-members, $10 Common Wealth Club Members, $7 students (with valid ID)

I apologize for being repetitive, but does RSVP-ing on the Meetup group mean automatic regiatration on Eventbrite? I see all categories now say sold out and don't recall explicitly going through the tickets url.

Alas, no. It SHOULD have meant this, and it WILL for our October 24th event on the origin of life, but we failed to make the MeetupRSVP-Eventbrite connection automatic for this "Physics vs. Time Travel" event. I apologize.

Aw shucks. That's alright, I look forward to the next one. Or may be if/when time travel becomes feasible, I can come and check this event out =)

Alas, please note that this event is "sold out." If you have not already formally registered with Eventbrite (via the "tickets" URL, above), I'm afraid you won't be able to get in.
