Hello people,

Wanted to let you know that we are in the planning stages for WordCamp Atlanta, which will be held on March 14 and 15th, in the same location as last year, Downtown Atlanta at the Loudermilk Center.

Thanks to all of you that have sent in applications to speak at Camp this year! We will be sorting out the applications this week and let you know very soon if you will be presenting this year.

I am writing today to encourage the rest of you to think about sharing your expertise with our community.

On Friday of WordCamp the topics will revolve around the theme,  Learn and Earn. These sessions will be focussed on the use of WordPress  rather than the sessions on Saturday where  we will have topics around the theme,"Build and Make" at all different levels.

Although we still are open to Build and Make sessions, I would especially like to hear from those of you having success with using WordPress for your Real Estate business, or a a session or panel discussion on Food, Music, Art, Travel  blogging or businesses. The process that large organizations have used to move to WordPress would be of great interest. I know that people would be interested to hear about various content creation tools that can be used to create and edit content to be shared on your WordPress site.  Maybe you have a a great work process that you use to phone your posts in or something like that.

Put your thinking cap on, think of an idea or two and get your presentations turned in.You don't have to have your talk prepared just a general idea of what you will talk about.

Monday January 13th is the deadline for Speaker Apps.

A couple of other things:

  • Tickets will go on sale mid-February so sign up to our Mailing list to get informed of the exact time the Tickets will be released . At 40.00 for the whole fantastic WordCamp, our 475 tickets will sell out fast.
  • For those of you needing a hotel room we have a very special rate of[masked] at the Sheraton but you have to reserve a refundable room by the 29th of January ( before tickets go on sale). Please tell your out of town friends about this.
  • We are having a kids workshop this year. If you are a kid or have a kid, Russell Fair is leading this up and you may want to get in touch.
  • If you can volunteer please fill out the form on our website. Volunteers will have to buy tickets, since basically we all are volunteers. However, speakers will not have to buy a ticket.

Come on people, Let's have a WordCamp!
