WordPress for English Speakers!

This time we a have a super cool event, with native English speakers, that will speak in... English (yes, all lectures are in English).

I hope that all of us will enjoy their experience to better approach the US, UK and Australia luxurious target markets.

17:45 - 18:15: Networking

This time we'll do for the first time a "speed dating". Therefore, bring your business cards... You may get out with some new friends and leads...

18:15 - 18:40: Lecture #1:

Operation Take Back The Media: How to talk about Israel so people will listen?

Sarah Tuttle-Singersocial | Media Director | Times of Israel

If you are a "Tzabar" probably this lecture will help you understand what is the difference between your way of thinking and your target clients:

If we believe the lie that "Zionists control the media" then we best be firing our PR person stat.
The problem was painfully clear during Operation Pillar of Defense, and will continue to be an issue unless we do something to make a change in the way Israel is perceived. The good news is, social media is an incredible tool that can help reshape the conversation. And it's up to us - as people engaged online who care about Israel to use it correctly, because I swear to YODA, if I see one more viral video on Facebook about cats, I am going to lose it.
So let’s bring it. Let’s tell the world the truth about Israel. The good things. The bad things. The complicated, nuanced, glorious things that create a country where everyone lives THIS CLOSE to the edge — where, while there is very real danger, the view makes it worth it. (Most of the time.)
Because the stories we tell and the pictures we share through social media about the reality on the ground in this incredibly dynamic country are sooo important. Hell, it's essential. Our friends are listening. Our families are listening. And not to get too melodramatic on you, but, seriously, the world is listening.

18:50 - 19:15: Lecture #2:

19:30 - 19:55: Lecture #3:

How to design a blog that is aimed at the US market?

1. Layout options
2. What NOT to do
3. Plug-ins we like

5. How to grow your readership

      Moshe,

Any chances for putting the used PPT presentations on this MeetUp-group website MORE-tab --> Files section 10-X

      January 3, 2013

  • Fabian K.

The presentations were very interesting and dynamic, and the organization of the event very good too! Also this event was perfect for me to know new people (I arrived a few weeks ago and know very few).
I agree with someone who said that we can improve the speed dating to generate more useful relationships and know better each other.
    Thanks for all!

Good, but what happened to the speedmeet? pity. 12 of the 13 people I met including 1 by the speedmeet were worthwhile contacts. A little more discipline(? order? timeliness?) might have helped us to make those other more important contacts//leads. & i AM MISSING from the RSVP list below (along with 4 of the people I met there who also RSVPed). Life is good & it will all work out. THANK YOU Moshe and TVL Campus for organizing and hosting.

It was at the two last lines of the room. We'll improve it next time.

      December 26, 2012

  • Preciouse G.

I enjoyed the pace of the Meetup. I felt there was enough time to converse and make contacts, but only if I had known there was a speed date going on while in the lounge. Suggestion for next time to announce it or move everyone into the room, some of us are new and didn't understand the protocol. I look forward to the next meetup, thank you for arranging it Moshe.

The content was very well presented (in spite of technical difficulties), the speakers quite knowledgeable and engaging. However, I was expecting a bit more WordPress-specific content.

Anybody know much about the parking situation. I assume there is a public parking lot underneath that monster for a fee.

Does anyone know on which street the entrance?

    December 24, 2012

    • Moshe K.

On that hour you may have free parking at the solelim st. but it is relatively limited. The entrance to the parking lot is from the Solelim st. as well.

You can park on the neighborhood near the area (Bizaron) via Pango and walk a bit.

Anyone going from Jerusalem/Gush Etzion area, possibly even Beit Shemesh, want to go together?

    December 24, 2012

  • Maya

    Is there parking?

    December 23, 2012

    • Moshe K.

At their previous offices, Google subsidized the parking. If you park at the building, bring your parking ticket with you. Otherwise, consider using the public transportation.
