AMP Stories have a special place in Google’s heart ... on search engine result pages. Google announced at I/O its developer conference last month that they will show AMP stories from Travel sites on top of the search results pages and I am excited. Because we can show our clients how to built AMP Stories with the plugin. They won’t need a dedicated development team to produce attractive stories to show off their tourist destination.
We'll cover in this meeting:
- What is AMP and why it's important.
- We take a closer look at the AMP Plugin for WordPress,
- We demonstrate how to create AMP Stories to create rich user-experiences for the future tourist attracted to our wonderful area.
The Accelerated Mobile Pages (AMP) project was launched in February of 2016 with the goal of putting user experience above everything else on the web. The AMP Project develops and supports the official AMP for WordPress plugin to create AMP pages natively for WordPress sites.
AMP powers more than two billion mobile pages and 900,000 different domains. Pages with AMP now load twice as fast as pages without added AMP elements.
This year at AMP Conf and at Google I/O AMP in WordPress took center stage.
