About Tyler Barnes
Tyler is the Associate Director of Organic Search at VMLY&R, providing strategic insight to clients concerning all forms of organic traffic and conversion improvement. He joined VML in February 2017 after leading the search team for 4 years at emfluence Digital Marketing in Kansas City.
Tyler is married to organic search, but he's well-versed in PPC, analytics and content marketing. With ten years of digital marketing and SEO experience, Tyler is well-verse in a wide range of platforms and specializes in WordPress SEO, eCommerce SEO and enterprise search. He is Google Adwords and Google Analytics certified. Tyler holds a bachelor's degree in marketing, advertising and promotions as well as a Master of Business Administration from Missouri State University (go Bears!).
Tyler's work has won multiple gold and silver AMBIT awards for search marketing campaigns as well as Best in Show at the 2016 KCDMA AMBIT awards and Most Bang for Your Buck at the 2017 KCDMA AMBIT awards. He has also won a national Integrated Marketing Echo Award for his involvement in the Joe’s Kansas City Bar-B-Que web relaunch. Under his leadership, the VMLY&R organic search team has been nominated for best B2B search campaign and Organic Search Team of the Year by the Drum US Search Awards and Search Engine Land’s Landy awards.
When he's out of the office, Tyler enjoys pretending like he still has time for video games and entertaining his two corgis, Brock Lee and Rufio, who rule his life. He’s also a new dad and serves as President of the KCDowntowners.
