Word Weavers Large Group Meeting

If you are new to Word Weavers, or have been lurking on this meetup for a while, but not attended. this meeting is a perfect on-ramp to the core of what Word Weavers is all about.

This month, we are going to do a public critique session. Two-four members' work will be displayed on the overhead screens, and a panel of experienced Word Weaver members will critique the piece for the entire group.

Our critique time is a benefit available to members only, and at the same time, this process will help you grow as a writer more than anything else we do. So if you are thinking about joining, or want to learn more about how to critically review your own work, make sure you attend this large group meeting.

This event will show you what the heart of what WW is all about.

  • We will have 3-4 contributions from members.
  • We will put the pieces up on the overhead projectors, and critique them the same way as if we were sitting around a table at a coffeehouse or library.
  • You will see the value of the critiquing process, and begin to understand why we do the critiquing process the way we do.
  • You will gain confidence in your writing, and feel more willing to bring your contributions to our small group meetings.

Our goal is to build up, not to tear down, and every member knows that bringing a piece of writing feels a bit like handing over you child, and asking people to tell you whether or not they approve.

Please plan now to join us, as you grow toward your writing goals.

We will also be announcing the winners of the scholarship contests to the local Fall conferences. Members are invited to submit an entry for consideration for a $140 to $250 scholarship to the Breathe and Maranatha Christian Writers Conferences, respectively.

See you in Sept.

Unique. Might have been nice to have a live pencil on screen.

You want separate pieces for the large group critique other than the scholarship winners?
