GR North Word Weavers Christmas celebration

Added reminder: Bring a wrapped gift no more than $5 in value for a gift exchange!  Noreen is in charge of how we do the exchange!
Hey gang!  Sorry, I'm a bit late in getting this formal announcement in about our coming Dec. 6 meeting. It's our annual (almost) Christmas bash!.
Refreshments - for the life of me I cannot find my notes from our Nov. 1 meeting about who was bringing what.
Let me put on my memory cap: Chris C. (who now cannot come on the 6th) was going to bring cheese and crackers, so I'll take that that one.
The rest of you, check me on this....Darlene - meatballs and tableware, napkins, etc. ? Rob Ellis had a special beverage to share. Anne V. was bringing punch and cups? Noreen, I forget but I hope it's your homemade cookies or bread!
Doug M,  I can't recall if you were coming or bringing anything or not.
.....Okay, y'all, if I've got you bringing the wrong item, please correct me. If I didn't mention your name and you are coming that's great!  Or you can bring something if you'd like. We'll see how many RSVPs we get!

At our gathering we'll give a summary of our Nov. 15 large group awards evening (fun!). And if there is a Christmas poem or short reading that you'd like to share, bring it along!
We do have access to the kitchen at the Community Center, which may help in prep and clean-up.
Anyway I look forward to seeing you all. Be safe,
Terry DeBoer
coordinator, GR North Word Weavers.

Hats off and thanks to everyone for a great Christmas gathering on Dec. 6 to conclude 2016. Yes, great food and fun, but it's the people who made it great!
A highlight was the return (temporary) of Teresa Lasher on a break from her continental travels on the good ship Sanctuary! Great to see her and hubby Steve and hear stories of their journey.
Also great to see Rich Rockwood, who read his original and creative poem which offered a tribute to Word Weavers (already shared on Facebook and will be posted on this thread, too).
We learned about contronymns (look it up!) and had some interesting "word play" using them. And thanks to Rob Ellis, who coaxed us to share some writing and personal goals, which we will review next year at this time.
Merci, Noreen who led us in our gift exchange which featured some really cool gifts (no white elephants here!)
Darlene, we wait prayerfully with you as your book project is in the hands of a publisher review board.
Thanks again. See you Jan 3!

Teresa, that would be so cool! Don't worry about bringing anything, just bring yourself!

I plan on bringing scalloped potatoes with garlic bread. It should go well with Darlene's meatballs.

Yes, on what you put from me, Terry. "GOOD JOB!" Don't forget we are to bring a $5.00 gift exchange... that a writer would like as a gift, so we can play a game.
