Submit It - hackathon

It worked so well in April, we're doing it again.

In partnership with UI Centric, we're again holding a day for you to set aside some time to focus on completing an app you're working on. We'll provide support, refreshments and a few incentives to help you on your way too.

Whether it’s a new app, or game, or an update to an existing one, this is a day all about submitting to the store. We're inviting developers from the Windows Apps London community and beyond to come and finish then submit their UWP apps and games.

If you've been putting off upgrading something to Windows 10 [Mobile] this might be a great time to do it.

Whether you need help with a specific issue or just want the opportunity to set some time aside to work on your app, we're here to help you submit your next great app.

We'll be providing food and drink so please let us know if you have any special dietary requirements and we'll do all we can accommodate your needs.

There will also be prizes and other goodies for taking part and submitting your UWP apps to the store.

Please answer all questions when registering or if you have any questions about the event don't hesitate to get in touch.

Please note that this is different to our usual events. It is an all day event on a Saturday where you can come and work on your apps and get help and encouragement to submit them to the store. If you're interested in just coming along to see what other people are working on or listen to some talks then this event isn't that.

Hello everyone: It was good to meet you all. Congratulations to the many people who submitted on the day.

As I mentioned, I've published a port of GeographicLib into a portable F# library that can be referenced from a Xamarin project as well as Windows Phone and Windows Store apps.

At the moment, it only solves one problem: the Geodesic inverse problem. Give it two points on the Earth's surface (latitude and longitude), and it will calculate the shortest distance between those two points. I've run it with a test set of about a thousand known data points, and it is accurate to the nearest millimetre so far. (This is assuming the WGS84 ellipse, which is the internationally recognised standard).

The project is available via Nuget (https://www.nuget.org/packages/GeographicLib.FSharp/), and if you would like to contribute, submit issues or reuqest new features, the GitHub repository is https://github.com/SpiegelSoft/GeographicLib

Amazing! Thank you guys for organizing a great event! I also really liked the presentations at the end. I hope on the next event we have more time to see a short 1min presentation of all the apps submitted.

Good morning all, just two quick notes ahead of tomorrow:

1: Your names have been given to security, when you get to 1 Alie Street ask to be let through the gates and provide your name, then follow signs to the 5th floor

2: We currently have some issues with our air conditioning which means things can get slightly chilly in the room, if you're the kind of person that feels the cold please bring a jumper!

Looking forward to seeing everything you create, update and submit tomorrow!

Hi Jay/Matt. Forgot to RSVP and Meetup wouldn't let me now, despite having 4 spots left. Can I still come with a friend? :)

Hey Alessandro, no problem could you drop me a message with your friend's name as well so I can put you on the list for security?

Hey everyone! We have confirmation of the prizes on offer for those who submit an app on the day. We have 3 phones, two 7" tablets plus a copy of Halo 5: Guardians to give away. Plus of course plenty of free t shirts to everyone attending. If you needed motivation to get submitted, hopefully now you've found some!

Looking forward to seeing you all on the 14th of November!
