I'm paraphrasing, but Sinclair Lewis once wrote that the biggest mistake aspiring writers make is never taking pen to paper.
It's a book published by the Gotham Writer's Workshop on fiction writing. As I'm writing this the title escapes me.
I write mainstream fiction. I also wrote non-fiction pieces about local history and genealogy for a local historical society's newspaper.
I read a lot of contemporary mainstream fiction. I also read journals/books on buisness and economics, foreign policy and history.
I've won a number of awards for public speaking.
I'm an aspiring fiction writer who wants to learn the craft.
