Alright, novelists, both budding and seasoned! November is NationalNovel Writing Month, a tradition dating back to 1999, to a very small group of 21 in San Francisco, and now in Year 14, participants number in the 6-digits and hail from nations near and far. Ahem, well, anyway, you can find out all about it at their website, starting with "What Is NaNo".
Last year, in my fifth attempt, I succeeded for the first time! 51K+ words in 30 days, another 24K+ over the following seven months until complete. I'm in stages of publishing as I write this. I want to do it again, how about you?
I propose some of us meet and brainstorm... we can bounce ideas off each other, discuss the process, etc. and then we can dedicate some time to prep work: Character studies, plot and setting design, etc. I am going to put this event on a few days on the calendar, and if more than 3 people can make it, on the calendar it will stay. So please: RSVP and check back the day before it's scheduled to occur. Thanks!
