Orlando Word Lab

Details
This is a writing workshop that meets on the 4th Wednesday of every month at the Winter Park Library. We focus on learning a new technique or method each month. A guest speaker will share a sample of their work and then give a writing prompt for everyone to follow.
We'll all write for 30 minutes, and then share our work with others, and receive helpful suggestions about what to improve. Bring your laptops, tablets, a notebook and pen, and a willingness to learn.
This month, we will learn how to create believable and fun antagonists. Writing tends to focus on the heroes or protagonists of a story, but without conflict, there is no story. In this workshop, Ross Ellison will showcase how to use the same tricks employed in creating protagonists and turn things on their head, and help create antagonists, the creators of conflict that drive a story. Bring some writing material and be ready to walk away with new ideas.
Ross is an author, entertainer, video game streamer, and all-around menace to society. He used to write exclusively dark fantasy but has dared to branch out into travel blogging and the dreaded world of politics. The one consistency to his work is a dark vision that showcases the real-life hell that mental illness creates in daily life.
