Our beating heart is a miracle. Liters of blood go through it every minute to nourish our cells with oxygen and nutrient, and clear the body from toxins.
Ayurveda recognizes the human heart to have both, Physical and Emotional aspects. The physical heart pumps the blood and the emotional heart experiences feelings.
Therefore, any heart problem affects both: Function and feelings. If ama clogs the coronary arteries, the heart muscle becomes inefficient. And if daily emotional stress persists, the heart fibers become damaged.
There are numerous herbs that works well in protecting the heart on both, physical and emotional levels. For example, Arjuna calms an aggravated Sadhaka Pitta, and balances all three doshas: Vata, Pitta & Kapha. And Ashwagandha reduces stress and insomnia. It slows down adrenaline and cortisol that impair the heart.
After working for years at Kaiser as a Nurse Practitioner, I was faced with a devastating heart problem. A great synchronicity led me to Ayurveda. I enrolled in the Ayurvedic Practitioner school and recovered with Ayurvedic medicine. After graduating in 2009 I went to India with my teacher. Then took two more years of study. In 2011 I opened the Claremont Ayurvedic Healing Clinic.
In this meeting we'll explore the Ayurvedic medicine approach to healthy heart. We will learn how to prevent heart problem and how to create harmony and wellness, peace and bliss, in all aspects: mind, body & soul.
The sea by my childhood home is filled with spiritual energy - inspiring.
We conclude our meetings with, pranayama and meditation.
