This is a NEW donation-based class I am adding to the Homies' yoga schedule Monday mornings.
Starting at 8:30am sharp, class will begin with 10-15 minutes of yoga at Leahi Park (running shoes on). From Leahi we will do a 30-minute "out-and-back" run. This means you will run 15 minutes out then turn around to run 15 minutes back to Leahi Park where we started.
You will need to have your own watch to gauge your time as all students might be running at various paces. If you are newer to running and not sure of your pace...allow for a longer time to run back. Ex: 14 minutes out and 16 minutes back. Coming back will usually take longer although with this route, we have the advantage of going downhill on the way back to the park.
Once we are back at Leahi Park, we will do 15-20 more minutes of yoga to wind down.
Because no one will be at the park to watch your personal items, please only bring what is absolutely necessary. Yoga for My Homies is not liable for any lost/stolen items left behind at the park. Necessary items include: a watch or phone with clock/timer, running shoes, comfortable clothes and perhaps water. It is also smart to apply sunscreen beforehand. If you do not want to sit or lay in the grass during yoga, you can bring a towel or mat...just remember it will be left unattended during the 30-minute run.
