The best meteor shower of 2012 peaks soon!
The peak of the Geminids meteor shower can be seen around the globe, starting on the night of December 13th and into the morning hours.
We expect between 60 to 120 meteors per hour under perfect conditions (far away from city lights, high altitudes, and no cloud cover). This meteor shower is named after the constellation Gemini (the twins), because its radiant (the point in the sky where meteors appear to come from) appears to be within this constellation.
Feel free to share this spectacular event with others!!!
If we decided to go, have in mind that will be extreme cold and we will be arriving to the Old Rag around 11PM. an to the summit around 1 AM.
This won't be an easy hike but is not impossible, a lot of extra warm layer will be required and bring whit us sleeping bag to help us stay warm is not a bad idea.
