Tell us about yourself. Where are you from? How did you hear about YBB? Feel free to include links to your Twitter, Facebook, blog, etc. to help us learn about you!

I'm an Oakland native who works as a Director at Stella & Dot, a company that offers gorgeous accessories and helps women to launch their own fashion businesses. Way back in 2009, I created a group called Young Blacks of the Bay simply as a means for me to befriend a few other young professionals of color, as I did not see many of them when I started working in Corporate America. Now, YBB has become one of the largest organizations for black professionals in the San Francisco Bay Area, with chapters in two other cities. I'm deeply grateful to have discovered so many like-minded, dynamic individuals through this group to call my friends.

In general, what kinds of activities do you like? What, if any, are your favorite local venues?

Refer to the YBB calendar :). My favorite venues are Somar Bar, Angeline's Louisiana Kitchen, and Fenton's Creamery.

Why did you join YBB?

I created YBB to meet a handful of like-minded, young, black professionals to hang out with on the weekends. I never would have imagined that this group would grow so rapidly, and connect me with so many other young people of color who also longed for a sense of community. I feel blessed to have met tons of phenomenal, brilliant, and beautiful people through this group since we launched several years ago. Thank you to all who've been a part of this journey.

For fun: If you were to write a book what would it be about?

A book that delves into just how phenomenal YBBers are!
