If you are traveling from outside Greater Victoria, you can reserve a room at the Accent Inns Hotel for only $65 per night (WordCamp rate). And if you're renting a car, check out WordCamp sponsor


If you are driving, your best bet is parking in Lot 4 (next to the stadium). The SSM building is directly across the street (Ring Road) from this parking lot. The ticket dispenser does take credit cards, but we recommend you bring plenty of change instead (you get your ticket faster, and we avoid creating a line up at the dispenser).


Doors open at 8:20am. Please do not arrive early, as we'll be setting up!

If you are getting this in your e-mail, you are safely registered and on the list. But note that you are on the list exactly the way your name appears on If you want something more descriptive to appear on your nametag, then please update your profile on before Thursday. (Lineups for registration will be alphabetical by Meetup name, not last name.)

Also note that you do not register for individual sessions. There should be plenty of room to attend whichever sessions you would like to attend throughout the day. If you'd like to plan ahead, review the sessions on the website at:­

Pick up a printed program when you register, and a unique wi-fi code to use for the day. Thanks to Adam McFadyen of for designing this year's logo, and the printed program.

Lanyard Alert:

Due to a higher than expected number of registrations we have ran out of lanyards for this event. As such, we are encouraging people to bring their own lanyards to the event (maybe we'll even have a "most exotic lanyard" competition). If we do run out, you'll get a sticker. If you (or your company) happens to have a stash of lanyards you can bring to share, please bring them along, too! Sorry, in advance, if you do not get a lanyard for the event.


The first session begins at 8:40am, and is a joint orientation session for all attendees. Even if this isn't your first WordCamp, there are a few changes from previous years that you should be familiar with. Try to attend this session to get a sense of the rest of the day. (If that's not reason enough ... there will be a few door prizes.)

Looking for some specific 1-on-1 WordPress help? Visit "The Idea Zone" where Jon, Adam and other volunteers are on hand to help you. Feel free to lend a hand here, too!


Feel free to bring business cards and mingle - it's encouraged! You do not have to attend a session, if nothing is of interest during a particular time, just grab a coffee, relax and hang out. Sharing ideas informally is often the best experience people have at WordCamps.
