Houston Code Camp started last summer (at least it was my first), and it was a great day of free talks all about software development.  It's happening again this year on August 25.  Details will be made available at http://houstoncodecamp.com/

In the mean time, they are accepting proposals for talks, including on Android.  Check it out!
