You also can choose to walk and fund raise also. Details below.

WHY: The Kidney Walk is one of the largest national fundraisers in the
fight against kidney disease. The funds raised by the event
will support local patient services and programs in 64 North Texas
counties. The mission of The National Kidney Foundation Serving North Texas is to prevent kidney and urinary tract diseases, improve the health and well-being of individuals and families affected by these diseases and increase the availability of all organs for transplantation.

Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) affects over 26 million Americans and most of them don?t know they have it. More than 20 million others are at risk for CKD. The two main causes of kidney disease are high blood pressure and diabetes. Kidney disease, if left untreated, can lead to organ failure, dialysis and transplantation.

HOW: Participants can register for the Kidney Walk online at
www.kidneywalk.org or by phone at[masked].

AUDIENCE: Everyone! More than 1,000 participants are expected including
CKD patients, physicians, family, friends, and members of various
corporate teams.

HOW MUCH: Participants and sponsors are projected to raise more than
$75,000. 2009 sponsors include XTO Energy (more sponsorships available).

Please follow the instructions in the HOW section above to register to walk and fund raise. Hope everyone is having a rocking day and smiling. Tim Gorts
