Hi All,
I went yesterday – they have a large field of sunflowers where you can walk into or they have hay rides and train rides that go through the field. They have other fields across the way but the sunflowers are smaller and just starting to bloom. The sunflowers in the main field are tall and waiting to be photographed.
Their ice cream is excellent. There were a lot of people but there is ample acreage that it is not crowded… at least that was yesterday around 12:30.. Light wise not the greatest time to be taking photo’s.

Photo-op this week at Buttonwood Farm at 473 Shetucket Turnpike, Griswold, CT
They will be harvesting the sunflowers from July 21-29. A $5.00 donation will get you a bouquet of sunflowers. All proceeds from the sunflowers will be given to the Make-a-Wish foundation. It's a good opportunity to help others and a great photo-op. 14 acres of sunflowers in bloom ...makes me smile just to think of it.
I've been told by a reliable source (our own Fran Audette) that they serve excellent ice cream at the Buttonwood Farm Ice Cream stand. Sounds like a fun day out ...a camera, a sea of flowers and yummy ice cream.
