Rare Earth Metals shortage update

From: user 6.

A while back, I posted an article about how China was going to limit its exports of rare earth metals.  China is currently the world's biggest rare earth metals supplier BY FAR, and rare earth metals are vital to many alternative energy technologies, including:

Lanthanum - Lithium batteries
Neodymium - Strong magnets used in electric car motors and wind turbine generators
neodymium is the most-used magnet material, but the following (all rare earths) can also be used
            Praseodymium
            Samarium
            Gadolinium
            Dysprosium
Ytterbium - High temperature superconductors

As the attached file shows, this isn't a "lets worry about it a few years down the road" thing - its happening NOW!
