Announcing a new Meetup for Southeastern Alliance for Community Change--SEACC!

What: Diversity and Inclusion Workshop

When: May 16,[masked]:00 AM

Where: Click the link below to find out!

Meetup Description: SEACC is sponsoring a diversity and inclusion training.

Who Should Come?
Volunteers or employees from community service providers, advocacy organizations, and grassroots groups working on issues of concern to the community and anyone else concerned about breaking down divisions in this community?

Why a Diversity and Inclusion Workshop?

Because we understand that sometimes our good community work is hampered by divisions along lines of class, race, gender, etc. We want to help people who are already doing wonderful work in service of the community, to bring an analysis of how issues of race, class, gender, sexuality, religion, etc affect the work that we do.

What will we do at the workshop?

The training will aim to renew our commitment to diversity and inclusion in our work and help us to examine how our efforts can be strengthened by learning about the experiences of others that are different from us, by recognizing our own and others? biases and privileges, and by enhancing our communication and relationship building skills so that we are better equipped to engage with other from different backgrounds and experiences.

What are the Details?
Saturday May 16th.
The workshop runs from 10am-2pm and lunch will be provided.
The Diversity Trainer leading the workshop will be Kimberly McLaughlin Smith.
There is no fee but donations are always welcome.
