It's how a representative republic works. You have a representative that makes that determination on how to vote. If you don't trust them get politically involved.

The electoral collage is needed. We live in a representative republic. The goal of democrats has always been to change us to a democracy which is evil. Just like the article said if the a state had voted by majority for one candidate but another candidate got more votes nationally then the national candidate would get the states votes. Whilst they are not bound the most always go the way they are supposed to for their state which is the goal. A democracy is 51% of the nation pushing their will upon 49% of the nation.

Shirley do you honestly think with the powers that be, and their ability to propagandize the population that a pure democracy is desirable? I can assure you its not.
