RE: [Web-Technology-of-Frederick] Introductions

Hello everyone.  I’m Jeff Wogan.  I have 15+ years in ColdFusion, Javascript, and MSSQL.  I’m current the CTO and Lead Developer for a startup called SafetyBaseCamp.com.  My partners train and certify people in various safety programs; OSHA, heavy equipment, confined spaces, rigging, etc.

I’m actually looking to connect with other ColdFusion-ites to build a team of developers over the next year.  The project is off the ground but there is still a lot of work to be done.

I’m new to the group and look forward to meeting all of you.  However, this is football season and my boys play and I coach so I plan to see you late October.

Jeff

Hello all! My name is Stephen Sell. I am originally from WAY out in the sticks of Maryland in Cumberland, MD. I moved to Frederick back in 2008 to take a teaching job in Montgomery County at a high school not far over the county line. I have taught a wide variety of subjects over the years. Currently I am teaching Web Development, CompTIA A+, and a new course in robotics and Java Programming. I hold a B. S. in Music Ed, a M. Ed in School Counseling, and a M. S. in Computer Science. I also do some adjunct work for FCC in Computer Science when I have time. Oh, and because I am so into learning Web Development I started a VERY small business back in Jan 2012 along with my brother. We are always looking for startup and small businesses, making sites preferably in our own Word Press templates. We also are not afraid to take on SEO work, and tackle existing projects, or just learn, learn, learn.....

I have two boys that keep me very busy, as if I was not already busy enough. But, that is apparently the way I like it.

I have found this group to be a FABULOUS resource and everyone has been VERY kind and helpful. Thank you to ALL who started and for who keep it going!

Stephen

P.S. I am always looking for guest speakers for my students (who are pretty good kids this year) so if you are interested let me know.

Although working as a chief architect I wear multiple hats at work. I have over 15 years of experience in Java Web Development (SCJP), Certified Oracle DBA with over 12 years of experience in administering Oracle databases as well as SQL Server databases. Most importantly, I am madly in love with JavaScript development. Sencha - ExtJs4 & YUI are on top of my list.

Always on a lookout for learning new technologies and making new friends. If you ask me I like the second one better: Making New Friends

It was great to meet few of you at the recent meetup in Frederick. Thoroughly enjoyed the talk given by Kevin.

See you guys soon!

Thanks,

Ritesh

Hello Frederick Web Technologists.

I'm taking an idea from the DC PHP User Group and starting an introductions thread. All are invited to introduce yourselves and mention what you do, and who you do it for. This is also an opportunity to say whether or not you're looking for work, or looking for talent- so speak up!

My name is Kevin Bruce and I started this group about 3 years ago, mainly because there were no groups for web folk like us in Frederick. I'm a designer/developer, which means I have a Bachelor of Fine Arts, but can also code OOP PHP. I recently started a company with 3 other developers (that a way better than me) called Musketeeers.me. We build sites for large companies as well as web apps for all to use (http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/eliw/bubblesorter-and-gridsorter-two-new-web-applicatio).

I don't manage this group all by myself, as I have frequent help from co-organizers Josh Trout and Michael Guill. Thanks guys!

Ok- reply to start introducing yourselves!
