I would NOT contact the LBP. I would start getting the email list ready to mobilize each time something comes up for vote. I would have the short letter ready for people to copy and paste with the email Addie's of their representatives. I would start attending session. Yeah- I know. But it's the only way. Ask Susie.

Please say it loudly, Cori. I said it til my fingers nearly bled from typing in argument from the negative piece on nola.com in March. Say it in the forum where people can see it. I also wrote to the author of the article, to some of the State Representatives and to the Governor's office. We need more voices!

Hi all,

I never talk but this one has me fired up.
I love how it conveniently leaves out any revenue made by the state in the form of tourism,  housing, tax from merchandise etc etc etc. When will people learn? We are bringing in more money than sending out thanks to a booming film industry. Ugh some people are so short sighted.

What do we need to do?

Check out LBP's newest blog!
The first three seasons of A&E's hit show, Duck Dynasty, could end up costing Louisiana taxpayers more than $6.2 million. The subsidies for Season 3 alone could reach $328,521 per episode - more than eight times the median income in Ouachita Parish, where the series is filmed. And the state's tab will only escalate as the show's producers seek tax credits for the next three seasons.
The latest blog post from LBP breaks down what Louisiana will spend to support the reality series, and argues that this money could be better spent on critical needs such as schools, roads, public safety or health care services. But don't blame the colorful Robertson family for this largess; they are only playing by the rules set by the state.
"The Robertson family should be commended for their skill and success as entrepreneurs," LBP Director Jan Moller said. "But there is no reason the state needs to subsidize such a lucrative franchise when it has so many other needs."
