Please note - this is not my post - pictures of these cute fellows are on Craig's List, but here's the text of the post. You want to make sure all required waiting periods for trying to find the original owners have passed before you adopt.
 

Two Small Dogs Need a Home Before Christmas - FREE! (san mateo)

We found these two sweet pups on the evening of Thursday, December 13th running around in the street in Santa Clara. We have placed ads, filed found reports, posted signs, etc. in every possible place, but their owners have not claimed them, so we believe they were abandoned. We live in a small place and already have one very big dog, so we cannot keep them. They love eachother and are inseparable, so we do not want to take them to a shelter where they will likely be separated. Please help us find them the loving home that they deserve!

The one on the left is a female and appears to be a dachshund/beagle mix around 2-3 years old. The one on the right is a male (neutered) and appears to be a jack russel terrier mix around 1 year old or younger. They are extremely sweet and do not have any behavioral problems (they rarely bark and do not chew up anything in the house). They also do not have any apparent health issues and I put Advantage on them to make sure they do not have fleas. They are pretty mellow, especially the girl who just wants to lay on your lap and be loved all day. They are great with people, other dogs and with babies (had no problem with my 1 year old nephew). We will be out of town for the holidays, so we need to find a home for them before Christmas or else they have to go to a shelter.
