The Slingbox is a great product and in fact, that is what we use. So the next question is, why is our service so expensive and why not just do it yourself?
Again, although our service is not cheap, it is a great value for what you are getting. If anyone has any other questions please let me know.

- First off, we are including the equivalent of a Time Warner $93 package (Sorry, we can't customize as Time Warner supplies us only this package in bulk).
- If you put the Slingbox in your own house, you would still need to buy a cable subscription, and if you put it in a friend's house, you would still need an extra subscription or when you changed channels remotely, the channels would change at the friends house and vice versa.
- The main reason to not do it yourself is the picture quality. We stream from our professional data center at a guaranteed upload speed of 2,000 kbps. This gives you exceptional quality. The highest residential internet upload speed a cable company (such as Time Warner) offers is up to 512 kbps (not guaranteed, could be slower at times). This is significantly less quality than we we give you. They charge $45 per month for this. If you want an upload speed of 2,000 kbps like we give you, you will have to go with Time Warner's Business Class Premier package which is $530 per month! Also, if you were using a friend's house, the Slingbox uses all available bandwidth, so the friend probably would not be too happy with you sharing their internet connection.
- Only we have a proprietary USB device that connects to your PC to let you use the actual Time Warner remote to change channels. Other wise you would have to use your mouse or keyboard to access your cable box.
- Lastly, there are times when either the Slingbox or cable box need to be manually reset so if this happens you would need someone on site to take care of this.
Again, although our service is not cheap, it is a great value for what you are getting. If anyone has any other questions please let me know.

It allows you to view the same cable you have in your NorthAmerican house. It is like have another cable box, but for your computer.
