Dear Friends,

Thank you very much for signing the 350.org petition "Don't Let California Backslide to More Dirty Energy" calling on the California Public Utilities Commission to reject SDG&E's proposal to build more natural gas plants and instead work to maximize renewable energy in San Diego. We'll keep you updated on this campaign.

I wanted to invite you to join the SanDiego350 team and to get involved with climate change actions right here in San Diego!

Subject: Training the next generation of San Diego climate activists.

Reply-To: [address removed]

Hi friends,

California is now experiencing its most severe drought ever recorded. This state's climate movement needs all the people-power it can get!

On August 16th, San Diego 350 is organizing a day-long workshop to empower the next generation of change-makers. If you're a young person who wants to help grow the climate movement in San Diego, you should check it out:

WHAT: Workshop to equip San Diego’s next generation of activists, including trainings, speaker panels, discussions, and optional happy hour

WHEN: Saturday, August 16th, 8:30 am - 5:45 pm

WHERE: Liberty Station, San Diego, CA

Click here for more info or to apply to attend the workshop.

This is going to be a great organizing crash course, as well as an opportunity to connect with other young climate activists in your area. The day will include sessions on political power, social movements, activist tactics, communications, and more.

It's $15 (or pay-what-you-can), which includes breakfast, lunch, snacks, and one happy-hour drink. Space is limited, so you're encouraged to apply asap. While not exclusive, this workshop is specially geared toward activists under 35. If you know a young person who'd be a good fit, help us spread the word by forwarding this message.

Questions? Feel free to contact me at [address removed].

Thank you,

Emily & the Team at San Diego 350
