I'm back

Hello everyone, you might have noticed that I've been missing for awhile. I'm busy with work and other projects these days so do not have much interaction with Ecopsirit at this time other than paying the annual fees for the website.

I changed my email address awhile back and in the process missed redirecting meetup email to my new address. This led to me missing notices about payments due for the meetup. Thankfully Yurey stepped in and paid the dues keeping the club alive. He reached out to me and I reimbursed him for the dues and he has transferred the club organizer position back to me.

Yurey, a heartfelt thank you for stepping in, very much appreciated.

Herbert, great to see you have another hike on the go, you are our steadfast organizer of events and much appreciated. I do have some improvements in mind for ecospirit but have recently started a new job and am busy with that so for now Ecospirit just has to exist as it is.

We are always interested in more people organizing events, any kind of events that bring others together in an outdoor or social environment. Start with easy things and work your way up from there as you develop a comfort level and a following.

A word of advice to those thinking of organizing events... Start easy and familiar, get out on other events and get to know people first. Discuss what you would like to do with people you meet within Ecospirit and see if there is interest. With a little effort you can have some basic interest before you even post the event. People need to feel comfortable with you before they want to join your events.

Herbert has a strict event invitation format, you can adopt this or have your own more casual style, these decisions I leave to you as an event organizer. You need to feel comfortable with the event you choose and the people you are taking with you. If you have thought about organizing events you can email me though the web site and I will help you out with ideas or other suggestions. It's a mild winter so far but snow is still in the mountain forecast so hiking could return to snowshoeing before winter leaves us. I will return some energy to Ecospirit soon enough but not quite yet.

Until then be safe and enjoy the outdoors!

Murray
