Photographing the returning wildlife in Los Angeles

They?re back, absent due to construction, and to many kids with BB guns the animals are finding the urban lifestyle more to their liking these days than the surrounding hills and mountains. With the ability to live off our discards, the animals are flourishing, which makes them great subjects.

Nowadays it is not uncommon to run across a mother possum and her brood crossing some of the main streets in the downtown and surrounding areas of Los Angeles. Or the occasional raccoon foraging through the trash, and although these are nighttime creatures you can still find them after sun up in the early morning, still flourishing before retiring.
