I've formed our very own Santa Cruz WordPress Team on Kiva.org and have lend $25 to a mother in Peru named Paulina who needs $350 to keep an internet cafe business afloat. I figured I could do away with a few days' worth of lattes to help a stranger. Who knows there may be a WordPress meetup group in Peru in need of an internet cafe to meet and Paulina's might just be it.
