Nation,

We're having social drinks this Wednesday after work at 80 Proof to mix and mingle while pretending to watch the famous State of Origin Rugby between NSW vs. QLD.

RSVP on meetup: http://www.meetup.com/sydney-expat-americans/events/223167258/

RSVP on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/events/466063406884503/

Then in 3 weeks is our best event of the year--the Fourth of July, and this year we're having fireworks right in front of the Hard Rock Cafe in Darling Harbour!

RSVP on facebook: https://www.facebook.com/events/926407704068434/

RSVP on Meetup: http://www.meetup.com/sydney-expat-americans/events/219522631/

Once again we're throwing the biggest Fourth of July American Independence Day Party in the Southern Hemisphere!

Awesome music & live American DJ’s, American food & drink specials, Jim Beam Party Crew, Beer Pong, Cornhole, flip cup, free American Whiskey tasting (5-7pm), our famous Trivia comp (5pm start), 4th of July FIREWORKS show (8:30pm), lots of fun & games and more! Over $10,000 in prizes & giveaways.

Dress: as American as Apple Pie! The theme is all things USA and there are prizes for best dressed!

We're taking over the entire Hard Rock Cafe & the neighboring venue, Cohibar, and all the space in between! There's a lot happening at both venues throughout the night...

US TAXES

We're getting a lot of questions about where to go for help filing your US Taxes. The first thing to know is that no matter where in the world you live or whether you made zero $, as an American citizen, you always have to file US taxes.

The good news is that if the company filing your taxes knows what they're doing, there's very little chance that you'll end up having to pay the IRS. There are a couple of special complicated tricks for American's living abroad which can negate everything you owe.

The bad news is that your average American tax accountant and pretty much every Australian accountant aren't familiar with these deductions as they don't specialize in US taxes for non-residents.

We've finally found a company that specializes in only filing US returns for overseas citizens--and they're cheap compared to others--and they're giving our group a $25 discount.

Use this link to get the special discount of $325 to file your US Taxes.

We also get a lot of questions about the cheapest and easiest way to send money to the US--The cheapest and easiest we've found is OzForex and one of the Expat Americans in our group works at OzForex and has hooked the group up with a special deal of 2 free international money transfers. Here's the link for the free transfers: https://www.ozforex.com.au/registration/step-one-private-version2/?pid=2590

See you soon,

Ben
