Thanks for everyone's input.  It sounds like a get together, maybe mid-September, would be appropriate.  I get the impression that many people are new to astronomy, not that I'm an expert, and some of the basics (like basic telescope operation, polar allignment, etc) would be appropriate.

 

I'm off up north (to less light-polluted skys) next week so I will not be at the next two Friday meetups including tonight.

Hi.

Participation has been less than great for some of the meetups. I'm wondering what people would like to see out of this meetup. I started this meetup with the intention of it being more focused on observation, i.e. telescopes & astro-photography, with maybe some discussion on astrophysics, cosmology, etc.

Would people like an organizational meeting to discuss where we'd like to go?

I've been away for a couple of meetups but I think the seeing Friday (8th) should be not bad - for around here, so it would be nice to meet some people at Great Falls Observatory.

I'm looking for some feedback here people.
