I've been thinking a lot about why so many people go balistic, one side or the other on a lot of subjects.? After watching a new show about human development on PBS, with Alan Alda hosting (can't remember title--maybe Human Spark?)?I wonder if this tendency?involves a very basic way to make sense of the world, and maybe complex issues trigger this response in people.? In the episode that I watched a few weeks ago, babies as young as 6 months, developed a preference for a triangle with eyes (vs. a?square, etc) ?if it had shown friendliness toward the lab person administering the test.? And they stayed with that choice.
