Dear Friends,

My friend Jack Lebowitz informed me that the Environmental Task Force of the River Road Unitarian Universalist Congregation (RRUUC) in Bethesda, MD will host a presentation by Paul Ehrlich, Stanford professor of population studies, on Ethics, the Environment and Avoiding the Collapse of Civilization tomorrow, Sunday, April 27 at 1:30 PMRRUUC is located at

6301 River Road
Bethesda, MD 20817

Tickets for the talk are $25 at the door for adults and $10 for students.

Dr. Ehrlich is a member of the National Academy of Sciences and a Royal Society Fellow. He recently received the BBVA Foundation Frontiers of Knowledge Award in the Ecology and Conservation Biology for having “contributed key conceptual advances in the science of ecology and conservation biology, with a long-standing influence in other academic disciplines”.

Dr. Ehrlich’s presentation that will be followed by a reception.  RRUUC is hosting this event to provide a forum for Dr. Ehrlich views to a diverse audience and to serve as a fund-raising event in support of a solar-powered water pump project to bring water to the village of El Roble, El Salvador.  RRUUC's youth group has been working every summer in El Roble.
