What we're about

Enjoy kayaking, biking, happy hours, and other events with like minded individuals in the DC Metro area. Members are only invited if they are easy going, no drama, no mean people. I also manage some charitable benefits and include them in the calendar if you like to 'party with a purpose'. Typically, these events are international, young professional happy hour types of events. I have always been an environmentalist and will add 'green' events into the mix. We are a fun, interesting group of people who get along well. (Think Cheers meets Friends combined with Sex in the City). For those who have attended, especially the happy hours you know how much personality there is in this group. I look forward to meeting you if we have not met already. I try to find inexpensive but fun events to attend. Please feel free to recommend an event, I am always open to feedback. This group is growing quickly and I am looking for 2 reliable volunteers to assist, one would manage the happy hours. Contact me if you are interested in managing some events. In the case of charitable events proceeds go to the 501(c)3 organization(s). I am looking into sponsors now to cover the cost of running the Meetup and to possibly give members freebies.

Kayak + Fun

Key Bridge Boathouse

$25.00

Let us do at least one more Kayaking + fun before, the Boat Houses closes for the season. We will have an hour on the water in a single kayak and will hit one of the bars in the area for a bite and/or booze.

We will meet at the Front Desk. Plan to arrive on time and be aware that parking can take some time.

Directions and Check-In

They are directly under the Key Bridge on the Georgetown side of the river at 3500 Water Street Northwest; Washington, DC 20007 (used to be called K Street NW).

GPS
Is not very accurate as we are under the bridge. You can put in 3500 Water Street Northwest, Washington, DC 20007; just be aware of where the GPS is taking you.

Metro

The best way to get there is via metro. They are just a short 10 - 15 minute walk across the Key Bridge from the Roslyn stop.

Parking

Key Bridge Boathouse has very limited parking available on a first-come, first-served basis. There is street parking in the area; however, you may need to circle around a few times to find a spot. Some spots are free, most are metered. A few blocks to the east on Water Street (next to the Lowes Theatre) is a parking garage.

Biking

There are bike racks at the boathouse, so we encourage you to bike, paddle and bike some more! Please bring your own locks. We are very close to the Capital Crescent Trail.

What to Wear and Bring
Water, sunscreen, clothes you don't mind getting a li'l wet, and a great attitude!

GREEN 'Hump Day/Rooftop' HAPPY HOUR

Needs a location

It is irresistible to enjoy a rooftop Happy Hour with half-priced appetizers, glass of wine and rail drinks. This is mainly a social event and it is organized in joint with my other meetups. We usually draw a big crowed and you might want to get hold of me, at the event, to know, where the green group is. We invite guest speakers on our Happy Hours, from time to time. If you are interested to speak on any green and sustainable issues, please let us know. We will arrange a forum for you.

Closest Metro Station : U St. Cardozo and take the 13th St. Exit.
