-Some words about the play: it's a comedy. All the story begins because while a lady was with her lover (military) in Vincennes wood (it's the name of a wood in France),
her straw hat was eaten by a horse. The owner of this horse is Fadinard, the main character of the play, and this happens on the day he is going to get married.
As the lady cannot come back home without her hat, she goes to Fadinard's home to ask him to find a new hat! They won't get out of his home without a hat exactly the same than the one ate by the horse... her husband knows exactly the way the hat is....
All the play is about Fadinard who is looking for a new hat but he also has to get married. He will meet different characters, his wife and his wedding guest will purchase him because it's the date of his marriage!
