New Meetup: September Song Workshop (RSVP now)

Announcing a new Meetup for Melbourne Songwriters Workshop!

What: September Song Workshop (RSVP now)

When: September 6,[masked]:00 PM

Price: AUD10.00 per song for professional song critique. $5.00 for attendance only. Pay when you come.

Where:
Magesongs Music Network
2/11 Princess Maria Place, Hampton Park,
Melbourne
[masked] or (03)[masked]

For this session it is advised that songs presented are not considered finished. (Do not bring songs you have already produced and are satisfied with and attached to the way it is. Bring a song you need help with, a song in the making. i.e. It may be just a verse and a chorus for instance if you are experiencing songwriters blocks and have no idea how to make your second verse powerful.)

Those with works that have been professionally recorded are invited to submit them separately for professional evaluation and possible publishing opportunity.

Please print your lyrics so everyone can read what you are singing or what they hear being played.

This Workshop includes a tutorial and discussion as well as the breaking down of your "work in progress", looking at theme potential and the best lyrical approach. Prosody, hooks, structures, and more will be also looked at. Lyrics will be reworked on a screen for you being analysed in detail. Your song will have been fixed for you at the end of the session, all for an affordable fee of $10 per song. (Please note that the fee for similar service outside our monthly meetup such as 1 on 1 critique, or phone critique cost $35 for 30 minutes. Emailed critique is $50 per song as it doesn't get the songwriter's interaction and therefore longer to make the song work for the writer.)

You can attend for $5 if you are not having your song critiqued and only want to learn by watching the work done on others songs. However priority of attendence will be given to those who are getting their songs critiqued.

This is a great opportunity for developing songwriters who strive to improve their craft, to receive professional feedback.

Talented writers can discover that sparkle that makes their songs a smash hit.

The format for the workshop is very different to the previous meeting. Songwriters can freely join this website to receive general information and know what others are doing with their music.

You can bring your guitar along, or any other instrument. A Yamaha keyboard is available for those who would like to make use of.

You can make use of the sound system available to present your song as audio CD. MP3 files from an Ipod for instance can also be plugged in and played.

Please come on time so you do not miss on the work done on other's song.

Bring a snack so we can all enjoy something on our stomach. I will provide coffee and soft drinks.

And it will all be fun.

Please RSVP early enough.
