Dan - Me and some friends just donated money and supplies to a family hit hard in Seagate.   I understand the level of devastation. Did your wife's coworker get coats/supplies yet?  I can help out and so can my brother.  Fuel, supplies - etc  Email me directly to coordinate.

I have got responses from a few people. They are meeting me near my job near Penn Station. I have minimal gas so I am trying to limit the driving around.

Dan,

We have put together meetups for tech foodies who are fasinated by crowdsourcing & local food systems.  We created a website called Farm2Me that has a network of 2,000 food makers and farmers in NY, SF and ATX that we tap to organize Free Food Markets in the Rockaways, Staten Island, Coney Island, NJ, any communty that is in need of a warm meal and a little inspiration.< br>
Just today we were in Staten Island and the Rockaways, on Father Copodona Blvd and Beach 129 respectively, with the owners of Bareburger, Candlelight Inn , Palenque , and Uncle Gussy's.  We started 2 days ago with just one vendor, and only 200 meals.  Today, we served well over 1,000.  And tomorrow, well, just tonight we signed GrowNYC, Hot Bread Kitchen, Red Jacket Orchards,Liddabit Sweets, and Ivy Bakery on board.

We're going to need volunteers to help organize and serve this delicious food to multiple neighborhoods at a time.  The power of a chicken wing in a comunity that has been completely wiped out, is like finding a christmas present under the tree,  It's a miracle!  A real miracle, with the emotions and everythng else.  Dan will tell you having been a victim & a family of his own what it feels like to live in a ghost town.  Knowing even after electricity will go on, that the devastation will leave the majority of the town off the grid for months longer.

VOLUNTEERS
We're looking for volunteers to man stations with NYC's most delicious food vendors, side by side.  We need multiple drivers/cars that can pick up 4-5 vendors worth of food and transport to locations in the rockaways, statent island, etc.

WE COVER
Gasoline is covered for the ride.   We ask that people carpool, one car full of food, the other car full of people.
We run an indiegogo.com/farm2mesandy campaign that we hope to grow to $6,000 to keep this going for at least a month or two.

Any contribution would be helpful!  Volunteers are preferred.

Best,

Garry
Farm2me Team
