Bad News. :/

Well Improvisers, I have some bad news for everyone. It looks like [Blank] Space is going to be closing at the end of the month, and I don't currently have any news of plans to reopen or relocate in the forseeable future. Alas! It was a good run, but it looks like we're in the market for a new home for the Orlando Improv Meetup. In this vein, I've been sending out the following Email, which I'd be quite appreciative if you'd forward along to anyone and anyplace you'd think might work. Here it is: ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Hello there, my name is Matt Moeller and I'm looking for a place to host bi-weekly improv classes.  The group, founded in September of 2010 currently has over 240 members and about 15 to 20 of them at any given time regularly attend classes. We've been meeting in various spots around town and our current host venue is going to be closing shortly.  The group is run out off meetup.com and can be visited at www.meetup.com/improv101 ! We are a very friendly, welcoming group that always offers improv classes that are FREE (doesn't cost a dime) and OPEN (anyone can come and play without prior experience and without making any commitments to return). I personally am I software developer that has benefitted greatly from free and open software, so I take that mindset with improvised skills as well. I'm here just to help people learn and expand their minds about improv and the skill sets involved with that.  We also run a showcase group called Hot McCartney which has done shows around orlando. Consisting of members of the meetup that wished to showcase their skills, we've opened the 2011 Orlando Improv Festival, been in the 2012 Orlando Improv Festival, and played shows at SAK comedy lab as well as doing a bi-weekly show down on I-Drive. We play both short form games and long form formats, creating one of our own dubbed Love/Hate/Sexy which is quite fun to perform.  We don't ask members of the group for any financial contribution, so I cannot offer to pay anything for the use of your excellent venue. However, we've previously operated in a fashion which is fairly advantageous to everyone. Whenever we hold classes, I will plug any food or drink specials which are available, and normally by the end of class, everyone is hungry and thirsty. So if you have any nights that are slow I can certainly bump some traffic into those areas. We also offer to hold our Hot McCartney shows in your venue twice a week for no charge, just to showcase our talent and have fun! This will normally draw a small crowd (average at about 35 - 45), but for some nights with interesting items (we did a torture show that was a blast!) we can draw quite a large gathering for a medium size venue. (Our max is at 78 people drawn) I'd love to keep improv alive and well in central florida and I appreciate your support in helping me achieve this! If you don't think that your venue suits this very well, please consider if you know of any other place and send this email their way!  Thank you very much!  -M@
