The Seven Principles of Unitarian Universalism
We, the member congregations of the Unitarian Universalist Association, covenant to affirm and promote:
1·The inherent worth and dignity of every person;
2·Justice, equity and compassion in human relations;
3·Acceptance of one another and encouragement to spiritual growth in our congregations;
4·A free and responsible search for truth and meaning;
5·The right of conscience and the use of the democratic process within our congregations and in society at large;
6·The goal of world community with peace, liberty, and justice for all;
7·Respect for the interdependent web of all existence of which we are a part.
The name "church" appears in front of a building at 2001 California Lane in Arlington, but WE (Worldly & Ethereal) of The Arlington Unitarian Universalist Fellowship are in fact and have always been a Lay Led Fellowship meaning that WE don't follow an appointed minister, but rather minister to ourselves and we don't recognize any one UU Church or building as being "home." WE occasionally invite favorite ministers and others to speak in different venues. WE also have a close fraternal relationship with the Arlington UU Church and promote their events in our calendar. Cross-membership and cross-pollenization between the church and the fellowship are encouraged and enrich both organizations!
