Re: [ruby-81] We need a presenter!

William,

I'm contemplating giving a presentation, but I want to be sure I'll have time to pull it together and, of course, see if it's appropriate.  My idea is not as  sophisticated as the previous to meet-ups, so, I don't know if it will hold peoples interest.

In broad strokes, it's a general RESTful solution  for  an-commerce product catalog/shopping cart/checkout process.  I'm still in the process of extracting the code from system I've implemented.  It rides on top of restful authentication and active merchant.

The big idea here is really about breaking an application  into models lend itself to the REST design pattern;  some other 'best practice' implementation strategies.

I'm afraid that a certain segment of meet-up attendees may be bored by this if they already understand the whole REST thing.  Less advanced participants may enjoy it.  If you want to hear more about it let me know.

I'm just wrapping up a release  of  an application ( www.bokayme.com ) which is an arrange-your-own-bouquet  of flowers application.   Please take a look, you might want to try it.   There's some interesting AJAX magic here.  Use this promotion code 'flowers50' if you want 50 free credits.  We're still beta-testing, but it's pretty stable.

Once this release is live, I'll have time to prepare the presentation.

Best,
Elliott

We need a presenter for the February meetup! If you have something you would like to show off or you would like to talk about something you just learned and think is fairly interesting, PLEASE contact me.

(Some of you offered to present, I spoke with someone about doing another Flex presentation... if that's you, please step up!)
